The terms “inn” and “bed and breakfast” hardly do Devonfield Inn justice. Devonfield goes above and beyond to provide travelers in the Berkshires with more than just beds to sleep in at night (albeit extremely comfortable ones) and filling breakfasts in the morning. To reduce a stay at Devonfield Inn to just erroneous. While there are plenty of fantastic B&Bs to choose from, Devonfield Inn tops the best B&B in the Berkshires list, serving as a prime example of what hospitality is and what an ideal vacation to the Berkshires should be.
The English-style country house, built in the late 1800s, is located just one mile from the town of Lee’s Main Street, making it extremely accessible to the highlights of Lee’s historical district, as well as the rest of the Berkshires. From the moment you enter Devonfield Inn, owners Bruce and Ronnie Singer, along with their attentive and welcoming staff, have your best interest in mind. You don’t feel like a guest, but rather a visiting friend and conversations are quickly and effortlessly sparked around the house.
In order to preserve the look and feel of the gracious home, the Singers have painstakingly and lovingly furnished Devonfield Inn with beautiful antiques and charming country-living touches, including beautifully hand-crafted quilts. To help promote the local economy, Devonfield also stocks their rooms with locally hand-made chocolates, which were sinfully delicious.
Each of the ten rooms at Devonfield are designed with the utmost of comfort in mind. From the lovely country touches such as lace embroidery to the fluffy bath towels to the built-in jacuzzi baths in a majority of the rooms, it’s hard to resist spending all your time within the walls of this gorgeous home. In addition to the private rooms, Devonfield has a number of public rooms for guests to relax in, including an airy sun room and poolside deck.
Each day at Devonfield Inn starts with an abundant country spread for breakfast complete with fresh squeezed juices, locally sourced fruit and dairy products, freshly baked goods, and a hot gourmet entree that changes daily. Not only will the delicious food help you start your day off right, it’s the friendly conversation with the owners and chef that will ensure you have an enjoyable day exploring all that the Berkshires has to offer, whether you’re interested in outdoor activities or a day of local culture.
Many people travel to the Berkshires to get away, but at Devonfield Inn, you can truly escape into the peaceful calm of country life. And isn’t that why you decided to visit the Berkshires in the first place?
