I hate to admit this, but I never used to give all-inclusive resorts much thought when planning my travels. The idea just seemed too sheltered, too easy for me. Where was the challenge of travel? Of discovering new places? No, all-inclusives weren’t for me.
Boy, was I ever wrong. Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali proved to me just how absolutely divine an all-inclusive holiday can truly be, and I was in absolute heaven.
The major benefit of an all-inclusive holiday like the one at Grand Mirage Resort is the stress-free travel experience it offers; there’s no need to carry a wallet with you at any time so you never have to worry if you’ve misplaced it, where the nearest ATM machine is, if you have enough cash, etc. There’s also no need for confusing currency conversions when the bill arrives either. It’s all so easy, so wonderful!
Another thing I liked was the accessibility of food and drinks. Guests at Grand Mirage Resort can indulge in delicious food during their stay and with four world-class restaurants to choose from, my belly was always full with Indonesian cuisine, fresh seafood, Australian BBQ, and other Asian specialties. There’s even a 24-hour restaurant to ensure that you never go hungry any time of the day. I could have done with more Indonesian and Balinese options to try, but in general, the food was tasty and there were enough options to keep me more than satisfied throughout my stay.
The all-inclusive package also includes free flow beverages, alcoholic or not. The extensive and creative cocktail menu is definitely worth sampling, especially when you have a nice swim-up bar at the pool or a pristine white-sand beach (one of the nicest I’d seen in all of Bali) to spend your days!
My favorite activity while at Grand Mirage Resort was my afternoon at Thalasso Bali, the adjacent full-service spa. The spa itself is a dream with uniquely designed treatment rooms, an aquamedic pool, and a whole array of beauty treatments. Daily spa specials are available for Grand Mirage Resort guests, making treatments more affordable to partake in.
I was treated to an affusion massage, a French style aromatherapy massage on my frontside before flipping over for a truly relaxing and incredible combination of hydrotherapy and hands-on massage. The sensation of alternating cool or hot seawater pressure simultaneously with the skilled hands of my masseuse was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was so good, it was almost sinful!
Located in South Bali, it’s hard to distinguish Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali from the other huge resorts in the area, but once you check in, the similarities disappear and you discover the true charm of the resort. The staff is friendly and always ready with a smile, while the sprawling property are always impeccably clean and well-maintained. Even for a resort of this size, there are still plenty of private, quiet areas to relax.
A wide range of daily activities include morning yoga classes, recreational sports equipment, catamaran and banana boat rides, live entertainment, and a changing daily program keeps things interesting should you want to stay on grounds. Of course, with so many fun options and everything you could possibly need, there’s very little reason to leave.
My stay at Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali was one of the most relaxing and carefree trips I have ever taken. A true holiday for the perpetual traveler. I may not want to travel this way all the time, a little challenge helps keep me on my toes, but I am certainly glad that I can rely on an all-inclusive holiday like the one at Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali to give me a true break from the daily stresses of life.
